The Enfield Rugby Football Club Association is an incorporated society under the Province of Nova Scotia’s Societies Act. The Enfield RFC was established in 2007 with the interest of promoting the game of rugby in East Hants and surrounding areas. Although Enfield RFC began with a Men’s Division II rugby team with roughly 26 members, it has since expanded to include more than eighty members boasting Men’s Division I & II teams, as well as Senior Women’s and Junior Women’s 7’s teams, all participating in Rugby Nova Scotia sanctioned competitions.
On a volunteer and non-profit basis the objectives of the Enfield RFC are:
• To promote the game of rugby and its development in the East Hants region and the Province of Nova Scotia
• To promote the involvement in rugby of any individual, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background
• To participate in any and all rugby competitions sanctioned by Rugby Nova Scotia and Rugby Canada
While the promotion of the game of rugby is the primary mandate of Enfield RFC, it has also aligned itself in a volunteer position with several community groups, with the hope of giving back to a community that has given its members so much in the past. Enfield RFC is heavily involved with activities put forward by the Enfield/Elmsdale Lion’s Club, which includes involvement in the Canada Day Parade and Community Fair. Enfield RFC has also played an active fundraising and general volunteering role with the Relay for Life and annually participates in the Caring and Sharing Food Bank loading and unloading bags and boxes of food during the Christmas Season.
Enfield RFC welcomes new members of any age, gender, and experience level in on-field or purely social levels.
